6 The Venn diagram

I used to work with someone who was a little too fond of Venn diagrams. That and references to tool using mammals. So writing this makes me laugh, remembering.

Basic Venn diagram: two circles, love and sex.

We’re so weird about sex in our culture. It’s everywhere. Politics. Porn. A good part of what makes us laugh. Not a small part of what makes us cry, especially in my demographic. But we just don’t talk about it among friends.

I was raised that the sex circle was entirely inside the love circle. I can’t remember when I stopped believing that, but early.

And don’t even get me started on what’s considered sex, no Clintonian parsing please.

So since polyamory is about love, sometimes that means sex, too, but sometimes it doesn’t. Circles partially overlapping. For me, many times, for many reasons, it hasn’t. Don’t be sad for me, overall I haven’t lacked for either, it’s just important for me to clarify.

Sorry if this made you squirm. Hopefully it at least distracted you for a few minutes while we’re all waiting to see how the cliffhanger turns out. I had to go there before posting some other things.
